As a 36 year old who has lived here since 10 and been aged out twice, I assure you there is no justice in the world. I've seen guys who don't speak a word of English come here, marry a stripper half their age, different race, while being bank rolled by their rich parents back home and not work a day of their life and get their papers and nothing happens to them. I've seen trophy wives come here without a care in the world (well unless you count having to sleep with a dirty old man for a couple of years) get their papers. I've seen people who don't like the US win the lottery and come here.

And I've seen Dreamers like me miss out on something that was originally designed for people like me.

So yup, no justice.

Man, you are right The world sucks. That is why I seriously hate those people. Do you plan on getting married?

Maybe that might be the only way out. Find your self a good woman!

Play you're cards right. Roll the dice. We're all looking for ways to call your bluff. This silly round we call live is just a game. PLAY IT RIGHT.

But I never really had to try or study in college, rarely bought textbooks, it just all seems easy to me. But had I been different I've would've probably ended up like that guy you guys are dissing, and in his place I would've probably played my cards the same way with this opportunity, so just ease up on him is all I am asking, everyone deserves a second chance, especially people who are on the same page as us.
I'm with this guy, I mean yeah it may seem unethical but it ain't 'illegal' so let him do it. I mean, OP says the guy's trying to do so to get a better job which is at least saying something. Ask yourself this, would the world be a better place if this guy had or didn't have a work permit?

Sure it's a loophole and I kind of which they didn't exist in this case (since it puts dreamers in the spotlight w/the media) but loopholes are everywhere and are exploited every day (just look at taxes), yet we'll use them if it benefits US.

I am still trying to figure out how someone who is 36 and has been here since 1986 is saying they missed their chance....twice. You were 20 when the 1996 law was passed and 25 when 245(i) apps could be submitted, not to mention you could apply for a valid social security number in the past, get a DL, take advantage of all the work opportunities that the US economy allowed back then, and most importantly you got a chance spend your early 20s like a normal human being, before the immigration paranoia was in effect.

Your situation cannot be compared to the individuals who had to grow up in the post 9/11 era, when even the most basic form of US ID became inaccessible to undocumented, and one was not even safe to travel on a bus. Sounding as cynical as you do is pathetic, when you had a lot more opportunities for adjusting your status than most people on this board, up until the recent changes. There used to be people on this board, who would say that having a student visa is as bad as being undocumented, and others who had a DL and SS# would say that these documents do not really mean that much, and everyone would just complain and want full PR, not realizing what being completely out of status means today.

Dude, self confidence is everything. Women are not dumb. Just ask them out, care about them, be romantic and you are set. Man, do not waste your young age to this bullshit. Girls are not stupid, they know when someone cares about them. Intelligent and worth while women, they exist, believe me...

Girls make my life complete.

There is a stereotype that dreamers are either perfect in every imaginable way or leeches/ absolute losers. Well what the media portrays is not reality.

I know plenty of undocumented young people who see no point in going to school or just no money. It is easier to just work under the table to survive. I am smart but not a 4.0 genius more average but I do the best I can. I dont think its right to look down on cashiers or any other job. After having people look down on my parents for their jobs why would I do the same? Maybe they (cashiers etc) have no ambition but who cares, are they happy?

I know where the other guy is coming from. My situation makes dating hard and I only just started because I am confidant about this new law and finally being able to get a good job.

No reliable source of income makes it hard to date. Dating costs money! You cant just be at their house all the time. What if they want to check out a new restaurant or movie or both? Both men and esp women want their other half to be financially independent.

I was with someone who did not mind my situation. Sadly, I had to leave him to date someone with enough money to support me. Hardest decision of my life (love or school) but like the guy above said *life is not fair*. We only can do our best.
