He supports a Republican "plan" which is as good as nothing.

It could benefit ALL Dreamers. Main goal for the undocumented should be to get legalized right now. Nothing else should matter. USA is a powerhouse. Was, is and will be.

He backed out because Obama Admin and the DHS pulled out a DHS policy on June 15th. Rubio did say he would release it in June.
"He backed out" and didn't even voice support for the DHS policy that gave relief to a majority. Therefore, he didn't release anything, he backed out, and stopped talking about it. Demise is right about the boyfriend similarity.

You gotta stop talking about it. It's like "the Sopranos." It's *over*. Find a new show. - Forgetting Sarah Marshall

He did voice support for the DHS policy. His intentions were to give work visas and legalize and the DHS does not change status.

“By doing this by executive order,” Sen. Rubio argued, “by ignoring and going around the Congress… this may make it harder in the longer term to solve this problem.”

“Today’s announcement will be welcome news for many of these kids desperate for an answer, but it is a short term answer to a long term problem," the Cuban-American Rubio said in a statement. "And by once again ignoring the Constitution and going around Congress, this short term policy will make it harder to find a balanced and responsible long term one.”
Quote:
“There is broad support for the idea that we should figure out a way to help kids who are undocumented through no fault of their own, but there is also broad consensus that it should be done in a way that does not encourage illegal immigration in the future. This is a difficult balance to strike, one that this new policy, imposed by executive order, will make harder to achieve in the long run.
Yeah. no. By seeing it will be welcome news FOR THEM.." is similar to saying "fuck there goes my Latino vote carrot"

Intentions don't change the world. Actions do.

He didn't do shit.

Paul Ryan is a complete hypocrite who is hell bent of shrinking the federal government to the point where he can drown it in his bathtub by worsening the country's budget situation. That's why even though he says he is fiscally responsible, if you look at his record, it is anything but fiscally responsible. He has consistently voted for the policies that exploded the nation's deficits. He voted for 2 unfunded wars while also voting for 2 rounds of Bush tax cuts that benefited the wealthy. He also voted for Bush's completely unfunded medicare drug benefits. And his so called budget increases defense spending while cutting taxes for the rich and gutting the nation's safety net. And you know what? His budget will end up actually increasing deficits.
