ALSO

What if someone got roped into a gang when they were younger? What if they couldn't escape that lifestyle because of where they grew up?

If they are out of trouble now, why should they be judged on something they did when they were teenagers?

a good job doesn't qualify anyone for DACA/DREAM ACT.

always position yourself for the best possible outcome, be prepared. life is unpredictable, shit changes all the time.

And honestly who gives a shit about a degree if you have a good job? It is possible to get a good job with just a high school degree. Its called working your way up.

But I guess according to most people here, everyone has to be an engineer or a scientist to be considered successful

if I remember, some articles say he moved to California to get away from that life. I'm not defending him okay. I'm just saying what the article said.

Well apparently whatever diploma or GED that guy had was good enough to grant him DACA status. I'm sure he used that DACA card at a job.

he shouldve continued on, he would be looked upon differently and generate more sympathy if he was a college grad and had actual accomplishments in life.

Don't take it like that man. Sometimes things just don't go that way. What's done is done right?

WHO said that???

All I'm trying to say is that it's not easy for everyone to go to college. Especially as an undocumented person who does not qualify for Financial aid. So instead they work their ass off to get a job where they can make a living.

You do realize that most city jobs only require a HS diploma right? City jobs get you a decent living wage and a pension. Maybe some people are happy with that. What is so wrong with that?

btw I did go to college and I'm a licensed vet tech (although probably not an accomplishment according to you since its only a 2 year degree)

Going to college is hard but not impossible! I was able to do it before daca and without any parental financial help. Was it hard? Yes but it was totally worth it. To save money I finished early but at one point I was taking 24 units and working at the same time to pay for tuition. I feel like when people are stuck in the victim mentality they'll never progress.

There is no defending being affiliated with a gang or having gang tattoos while trying to seek some kind of status in the US. If there is evidence of him mingling with gang members in WA, there should be no tolerance. Tattoos can be removed.

I agree that as Dreamers, we need to show we are the best of the best in order to convince those that hate us so much.
