More details from the link posted few threads ago. If it doesn't age out older dreamers, it is a good deal!

"Like Curbelo’s bill, the Tillis plan would offer an eventual path to U.S. citizenship for immigrants who entered illegally before Jan. 1, 2012, and were 16 years old or younger.

The proposal would grant high school graduates without a serious criminal record conditional immigration status for a five-year period. During that time, if they earn a higher-education degree, serve in the military or stay employed, they could apply for permanent residency and, eventually, citizenship."

What about those that did not enter illegally (overstay)? Wording could imply certain current daca recipients may get screwed.

Some people think that we who overstay, enter illegally, because we knew we were going to overstay our visas.

Typically when they say illegals enter illegal here, it include us over stayers as well.

It sounds like you are trying to nitpick it.

If I recall correctly, 40% of illegals are over stayers.

I think it is safe to assume that those with DACA now (overstay, illegal etc) are safe and will be covered.

As people mentioned, I think the article meant "those illegal as of (date)" not "entered illegally"
