Rep. Gutierrez says the Hispanic Caucus has taken a position to vote NO on the budget deal due to the lack of a Dreamer solution.

When I ask him how he rates Democratic leaders’ performance in this fight, he frowns and says he’s trying to be positive today.

He can't. Only leadership can get that much amount of time.

Lmao when you realise that only the party leadership can do that. Don't comment when you don't know what you're talking about, bud. He's been fighting the fight for as long as I can remember. That speech isnt going to do shit for you or me or any other DREAMer. It was a show so that they don't kick pelosi to the curb

Gutierrez sounds sort of grim about prospects of blocking the budget deal — and he warns that once it passes, “all the leverage is gone” to force a DACA fix.

He doesn’t trust Paul Ryan‘s remarks about intending to allow a vote.

This is the leverage we've been hoping for. The GOP has the majority (and no filibuster in the House), so it would be really easy to blame a shutdown on the GOP. Let's wait and see, but looks like the Democrats once again aren't going to fight with us. Though I don't think the GOP are any better. They are willing to compromise on any item, BUT helping DREAMers.

@ChadPergram
Sr Hse GOP source tells Fox they are confident GOPers will deliver “well above” half of Hse GOPers and that Democrats will be able to make up the difference on budget bill. “I’m not worried,” said the source when asked about the vote tally on the Democratic side of the aisle.

A number of absences today in the Hse 419 is the highest vote total for members voting today in two series of roll calls. So the number for passage on the budget bill could be as low as 210 yeas.
