Being allowed to flaunt the immigration laws of the nation is an incredible privilege in and of itself. It is already a privilege that you can sit in DACA-status and DEMAND a greencard be served up to you on a silver platter. If you want to DEMAND a greencard, then you'd better have something they want, either family ties to this nation, job offer, advanced skills, or 500k USD. Anything else is peanuts.

This nation is not obligated to accept us, give us anything, or even do anything in our favor. The nation that is obligated, is known as your birth country, the one you ran away from.

Let me put it this way, it would certainly be a nice gesture from this nation to grant us the privilege of staying permanently and merging into the American Populace. I would certainly prefer to stay in the nation I know.

Merit has nothing to do with it. I agree with you on that.

Hell, you can go ahead and lick everybody's boots and you won't "earn" a greencard.

You can be motherfucking Rhodes scholar and you still won't earn a greencard despite beating all the best of the best.

Openly flaunting immigration laws?! What?

Are you even a Dreamer???

Most of us didn't even know their ABC's before being brought to this joint.

We got no other place to go.
This is it.
America is my home and that's it.

What kind of pisses me off is that Tillis says "somebody's got to move, and we are trying to help them". How come the Democrats have to be the one that moves? Why can't that somebody be Trump? or McConnell, who refuses to put anything on the floor that Trump won't sign? It just seems ridiculous to me to hear someone talk about compromising when they themselves don't intend to.

I think whether or not the Supreme court takes up the case this Friday will determine a lot of things. If they do not, then the Republicans might need to up their offers from Bridge Act to USA Act or even Dream Act and then the Democrats MIGHT want to give some money for the wall. I think that would be a good deal, but I do not see it happening. On the other hand, if they do take up the case, then who knows how they will rule. It seems like we are in a stand still... There isn't much to speculate on anymore.

That makes too much sense. In politics, leave reasonableness and sensibility at the door.

They are just trying to shift the blame on democrats. They want the “look they shutdown the government for illegals.” Dems are waiting for a serious offer.
Someone will fold under pressure and it looks like the GOP will fold first

Nope. As a condition for their green cards, DACA recipients will each have to hunt and deport one aged out dreamer.
