The senate was out for 2 weeks I believe. I think they come back Monday.

I think they need to first focus on fixing the border issue. If they try to push for immigration first without border security and asylum, the GOP and news media will drag us (dreamers) through the mud in an effort to discredit democrats as the have done in the past.

No side wants to show their hand first.. If Dems put a dollar amount, it gives gop room to say too low...add more... If GOP put a $ amount, it gives leverage to Dems. This is the same kind of impasse we saw for months with the 2020 covid bill. We need a bipartisan group to break the stale mate, same as before.

It is dead in the first 100 days but Biden struck a deal with Mexico and some South American countries to keep their people away from the US border.

If we see numbers drop, which they should, negotiation will start again.
