Washington, D.C. – Today, Congressman Joaquin Castro (TX-20), Second Vice Chair of the Congressional Hispanic Caucus (CHC), led a letter to United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) Director Leon Rodriguez to answer several questions regarding a backlog of several hundred Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) renewal applications. On August 10, 2016, USCIS announced that DACA recipients who submitted a request for DACA renewal between February 14 and May 14, 2016 may have experienced a delay in their renewal request due to a “technical problem” at USCIS. Due to the delay, many DREAMers are at risk of losing their job, scholarships, or fellowship program, or even face deportation
Wow, hopefully shed some light on these issues. Good to know and see

You are very welcome, I did not know about it either until I decided to look at the DDS website, my DL was expired since the 23rd, so while I waited for my ride I decided to post it and I am glad I did

My timeline is
Received 05/11 even though elis shows 5/12
Bios: 06/01
Expired 09/04
Approved 09/28

What helped me is that i made An infopass which I wasn't gona go because I thought that they were going to tellme the same thing "wait" but I had a feeling that I should go. I just had thata appointment this morning. Lucky me the officer who helped me was someone who used to work at the Nebraska center. He checked who had contact with my application and he emailed the supervisor of the supervisor of the person who last worked on my application to check with they were taking so long on my application since I applied with in the time frame. So he told me to email my congressman and also ask for help on that side. He asked me for my contact information so he could contact me when ever he received an answer. Honestly i left the place with hope but at the same time it seem kind of un real. Anyways I got home and emailed my congressman and blah blah. Like 4 hours later he called me , the officer, and told me that he had a response saying that whenever the guy who he emailed was going to finish with the applications he was processing he was going to work on mine and that i should got approved today and that I should get my card with in like 10 days. I didnt really believe that I could get approved that fast but I did. So I encourage everyone to do an infopass. I live in omaha, ne and I encourage people who live here to go and get help.

I think it's so ridiculous we have to ask for help from anybody to get out cases processed. Seriously, what if for some reason you have a shitty congressman? Or a shitty USCIS rep?
How about they give us a clear answer or give us some sort of idea when we will hear something.

I'm glad some of you were helped by someone outside from USCIS but I don't think anybody should tell us to "wait our turn" or "get in line" from now on. The system is so obviously BS!

I submitted a request via elis a while ago (before I was approved) and I got a response today. It looks like we won't get an approval letter for the work permit until it has been produced.

Thank you for your inquiry dated September 07, 2016 requesting information about your Consideration of Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) package.

Our system shows that your DACA package was approved on September 23, 2016. Your Employment Authorization Document (EAD) is in production. Your EAD and approval notice will be mailed to the address on file once the card is produced. If you do not receive the card or approval notice within 60 days from the date of this notice, please submit another inquiry to the USCIS Customer Contact Center at https://my.uscis.gov/account/needhelp (unauthenticated) or log into your online account for specific case inquiries and contact us at https://my.uscis.gov/account/inbox (authenticated).

I got the exact same response except mine went into production on August 26, 2016 and it still hasn't been produced.
