What's really the difference between DACA and BRIDGE ACT...besides one being a memo and the other needing congress approval?

Can't trust anyone these days. The media really isn't all that innocent.
What they are getting at is that the constraints that were previously in place on ICE officers/the immigration system under Obama, do not hold true with Trump in the White House.

They're not promoting, encouraging fear...or whatever anyone wants to call it. They are encouraging folks to remain vigilant, which is a good thing. Don't go out and make stupid mistakes because they haven't come out and said "we're going to end DACA on (insert date here)."

They don't want people to get too comfortable because no matter what they say today, the rug could be pulled out from under us at any point going forward on a whim.

So, before ya'll go disparaging the same people that fought for all of us and in some cases put themselves in immigration limbo to get us DACA, keep in mind that they surely have everyone's best interests at heart.

To me, it looks like DACA won't be touched until they are ready to put something else in place. Of course they aren't going to come out and say that DACA is no longer being cancelled, that would create a backlash from all of the racist Trump supporters. They will keep saying that it's not Trump's top priorities, to keep the racist happy for now.

There is no mention about travel authorization. In addition, the issue of unlawful presence still seems to remain as the act mentions nothing about forgiving that.

More like be lazy as not to address it now, not know how to address the issue in a consensus way that gain a majority of votes or simply to punt....or all the above lol.

I do agree, lets remain vigilant but, for now it seems like our chances to stay in the U.S indefinitely have increased a lot!

For people like me, considering taking a gamble by getting another degree, it greatly helps making the decision easier.

I have a bit more confidence that a deportation force will not come to my house in the next year or so to ship me out ASAP.

I was planning on getting married but now I can actually have time to plan it out and do it the normal way.

I agree with this completely.

United We DREAM posted this on facebook about Spicer's comments:

Quote:
This does NOT mean that DACA is safe.
This DOES mean that they are having a hard time making a clear decision.
And I think that summarizes what we know so far nicely. Spicer's comment were a good sign, but we must remain vigilant.
