I love him, and he's right. Him and Durbin are the only ones who genuinely care for us. We'll see

The Democrats should shutdown government; they cannot let the issue be pushed back.

I may sound a little weird right now but just the thought of coming back from a long overseas trip and landing in America with not a single worry, walking through the airport knowing that I'm not going to have any damn problems with immigration is just giving me goosebumps. Just that feeling of belonging when arriving here is something so precious. I've been lucky to be out on AP twice and both times I had absolutely no issues arriving back at JFK in New York but I still had that little uncomfortable feeling/uncertainty going through immigration. Hopefully that will all be history now. We can have our conditional green cards and we will be all good!

The question is.. would the Democrats really shut down the government over DACA? 2018 is just around the corner and they have a tough political fight come election time. Specially in the Senate.

If Democrats don't do nothing come December. DACA talks will be shelved for a very long time. They want to target taxes which won't be easy, and then come back to healthcare for the millionth time.

They don't technically have to shut the government down. The Republicans have the votes to pass anything without the need for Democrats. They would only need to filibuster if a budget deal passes the house... very unlikely. The most likely scenario is the Republican leadership and Trump meet with the Dems near December to strike up a deal. Democrats can demand a clean DA or even a DA with sensible border security provisions and that's it.

Also, I disagree... in March as DREAMers start to expire and some get caught up in Trump's deportation machine there will be a public outcry. It'll be a international travesty.

Responding to the general principles articulated at the hearing, Tillis said: "It reads like a laundry list for comprehensive immigration reform, and if Congress has proven an extraordinary ability to do anything, it's to fail at comprehensive immigration reform."

I hope more republicans come out against it. They will back down

Let's hope so. Worst case scenario will probably get the BRIDGE act just to buy us some time. After all, Trump said he would revisit the issue come March as DACA is still not officially dead.

With that being said it's very sad that Miller has more leverage than Ivanka, Jared and Kelly.

The reason he put miller back on is because he felt like he would lose his base if he went for a DACA compromise. Even Breitbart turned their back on him.

What I don't like about the WH guidlines is that they are a nonstarter for MANY Republicans. He can veto it, but he can't veto a DA with a budget deal or debt ceiling increase.
