What they need to do is come to an agreement between the White House, The House and the Senate on a DACA bill, once that's done, you re-open the government with a CR until Feb.8, then immediately put that DACA bill up for vote in the House and Senate, passed and signed into law before Feb. 8. Any other way and Dems have failed majorly.

The White House's stance of not wanting to negotiate during a shutdown is stupid and needs to be dropped. This is the time they SHOULD be negotiating.

Pretty much. I bought into their bitch ass lies--with the exception of a very few Latino Republicans.

Shutdown also exposed their asses. Dems got my respect with the shutdown.

I hope you realize that if you get DACA then republicans have no motivation to include parents or aged out dreamers in the future since Democrats surrendered their leverage and if they end "chain" migration then parents are fucked. Providing relief for only 800,000 people out of 12 million undocumented dreamers is not feasible. And you're still going to be in limbo if they don't offer pathway to citizenship. You're permanently going to be a second class citizen. Durbin/Graham are the ones who realize the overall problem and don't want to be here 10/20/30 years from now harping on the same issue. Democrats have a real shot to go for broke and if DACA has to be sacrificed because they're looking at the bigger picture then so be it.

There is 0 chance that Republicans will ever pass immigration reform. See how hard they’re fighting against just DACA? All these hypothetical situations about leverage and motivation are completely meaningless and will never come to pass. Your heart is in the right place and I’d agree with your plan if we weren’t dealing with zealots who would rather the government stop than grant some kids a path to legalize. The only way CIR will ever pass is if Democrats control all 3 branches by a substantial margin.

Well the statement is true. No one with a brain. After all having someone piss in your ear for years is no big deal, which is why black Americans are by no measure the bluest god damn voting block in the entire country.

Ok let's step back for a minute.

The Senators will most likely allow amendments to the bill to try to satisfy outstanding issues like this one.

It's like Trump, he first started with a gazillion requirements and now it's down to 4.

The bipartisan bill will also have to be changed if it has any hope of being debated properly and voted out of the Senate.

But I do agree. We should all make plans to either go back to the shadow like before before we get a new Congress and Trump loses re-election or this might the time to save up as much money and move out of this country and try to emigrate to countries like Canada and the like.

Or start dating and get married lol
