Also, can he issue an injunction the same day?? Isn't he supposed to take at least some time to come up with an actual ruling? At least just for show

I don't know where this talk of invalidation of issued EAD's is coming from, it cannot happen. This is fear, uncertainty, and doubt at its highest.

There are precedents that courts and governments have to follow, they cannot arbitrarily and capriciously revoke privileges given by the government without proving that its ruling passes strict scrutiny, the highest level of standard of review.

What Hanen can do is to rule that the government had the authority to rescind DACA and bypass the 30 days notice and comment period required by the Administrative Procedures Act (I don't know what judicial gymnastics Hanen will perform to make this ruling).

Once again, there's just so much more questions than answers.. So what happens now with Judge John D. Bates giving the administration 90 days to start accepting all DACA applications again, new and renewals? Also a decision from the 9th circuit could happen at any moment now, which is likely to be in our favor. How does that affect all this?

Also, what would happen to our social security contributions if the worst happens? Can we apply for early retirement or is all that money refunded? If not, can we sue the social security?

I wouldn't rule out 9th circuit ruling against us.

It mentions it, but Texas stated they are not asking for that (although the government has the right to do so). They want an injunction on renewals.

Also is july 23rd the deadline for the govt to respond to one of the rulings?

Wonder if it's all of these deadlines plus the SC vacancy forcing them to move it to 8/8

the sad part is that we cannot use our social security contributions in the first place, unless we become permanent residents.

I don't see why the vacancy would have made this deadline change. The Supreme Court term begins in October. Pushing it back by two weeks would have accomplished nothing with regard to a vacant SCOTUS seat.

Regardless, SCOTUS does not automatically fast-track cases just because of contradictory rulings from the courts below.

Gay marriage had contradictory rulings and took a good while to be settled by SCOTUS.
