I'm not sure.. No one that ever came in to renew had that problem. I think I read somewhere in one of these chats that even if u don't have it, you have the approval letter. That's stating that you were approved for Deferred action. I believe on the form I-765 on top where we click on the renewal box there's the option for a replacement.. Maybe if u call USCIS?

sorry.

Congrats to all the approvals! Can you guys put which service center approved your application? Trying to estimate how much longer my wait is. Thanks!

Hello all,

I have never actually posted here, but I appreciate all the help and resources that this forum has been for me. I am currently a senior at a university in an engineering program. As you all may be aware, senior year is where the job hunt really begins. I was solely relying on my EAD, so that I may be able to do what I want to do, however, through this delay, I have already expired like many of my fellow dreamers.

Looking back at the renewal process, I keep thinking to myself what else I could have done differently. The date my package was received at USCIS was may 12, which incidentally falls within their delay days. I then started to think about how If i had waited one more week, instead of being so impatient and sending my documents in on the 150 day mark and instead aimed closer to the 120 mark, the outcome may have been different. Or that if I had gone to the biometrics appointment when I was scheduled to go in rather than going in to the USCIS center for a walk-in biometrics, I wouldn't have this issue. But, as we all know all too well, contemplating the past will not change anything, and it will only make the situation more depressing.

Through browsing this forum, and looking at the posts in the threads, I see that others are going through similar experiences, and are getting desperate and feeling helpless. I read from an earlier post that the reason for delay is due to background checks. The funny thing is that when I contacted USCIS regarding the delayed response time (mine says pending since May 12th. It doe not get updated, and nothing ever changes) the reply was that they need further information on my background. I found this to be hilarious because I don't even have a single parking violation. I've been in a university the last five years and I stay out of trouble, like so many of us DACA recipients do. We try to remain under the radar, or at least I do....

I just wanted to write a post here to let everyone know that no matter the struggle, you are not alone. I feel a little safer every time I come visit the forum because I know there are others who understands the cause behind my biggest struggle. It puzzles me so much that I have spent more than half of my life in this country, and this is the only home I know, yet I not even allowed to be here. It's absolutely insane and crazy and a little part of my soul gets crushed when my oblivious friends ask me who I'm voting for. LMFAOOO

Thanks for reading, and that is all for tonight.

TL;DR: DACA approval has been pending since May 12. No change on website. Expired 9/30/16. Losing my mind.
Thank you for sharing your story. You aren't alone at all. And your EAD will be here before you get a job offer. So even though it's hard, stay focused on looking for a job. Just know that you are better off than those who have to support their families and pay for mortgage and what not. This too shall pass.

I applied on 5/24/2016 and EAD expired on 9/18/2016 and I've been on a leave of absence since then. I work for a major hospital so HR is pretty strict with their policies. So I cannot go back to work until they see the physical EAD card. It's been really tough just waiting at home and not knowing when your life will start again.

I did all the things you can possibly do; made several service requests, contacted ILC, contacted Ombudsman's office etc. The attorney that worked on my case is good friends with the senator so I've been getting periodic updates on my case. I just want to share with everyone the message that I got back from the senator...

"USCIS electronic records confirm that your constituent’s DACA renewal case is pending background check clearance. USCIS is committed to adjudicating these cases in a timely manner while also ensuring public safety and national security. A small percentage of cases have unresolved background check issues that temporarily delay adjudication. Although USCIS makes every effort to resolve such cases promptly, USCIS is unable to speculate when the background check will be completed"

I don't understand why there is such an issue considering they would find absolutely nothing with my background check. So I'm assuming a lot of people's cases has been delayed due to this reason, despite them saying "a small percentage."
are you a nurse at a major hospital? I work at SHC as a nurse

My application is supposedly being processed in Nebraska but my service requests have "TSC" in the end. Does anyone else have that?
