I'm still waiting to hear back from USCIS. I don't think my lawyer filled out the sheet where they let you know thru text or email about your case.. Submitted initial paper work Dec. 8. Maybe they are delayed since it's Christmas time and all plus everyone and their moms applying.

Did they cash your checks?

I didn't actually pay. The way my lawyer does it is you pay them (lawyer) , then they pay the fees thru the actual law firms account. I payed $1,200 for the retainer, then $2,450 for the application fees both payed directly to my lawyer.

Which sucks.. Granted I have been super busy and I haven't had a chance to actually call my lawyer to see what's up but I'll call them tomorrow if I have a chance.

That is really strange not to have received at least one receipt yet. USCIS is usually on top of getting those out. Hopefully the lawyer did send out the paperwork as they stated.

It's a legit lawyer also. I made sure lol. They've helped out 4 of my friends gain residency and one just received her citizenship..

Friend sent hers in on the 14th and still nothing for them either. And the checks haven't been cashed.

I was hoping this wouldn't happen. With the holiday breaks, price increases and Trump. They must be really backed up.

Maybe. But to not even cash the checks yet? Even that's pushing it for USCIS.

Anyone have any luck out there that applied in December?
