That's my point. It is not like dreamers haven't worked illegally before. Also, if this ever comes up, those of you who applied within the requisite timeline and USCIS allowed those cases to expire, they really have no ground to stand on.

So it looks like some kind of inquiry or something happened yesterday where USCIS has mass approved cases (maybe since they post processing timelines on 15th of each month, there is a rush to make progress). Who knows.

I did want to see May folks who did not get approved in this Thurs - Fri wave of approvals, do we something in common. Can you please post your State, Advance Parole, any traffic violations etc.? If you feel comfortable posting Country of Origin, that would be helpful but I understand if you don't.

yeah, but now you're under their radar now, that's one of the drawbacks of DACA... if you can, avoid it as much as possible. I mean, I'm sure you could justify a couple of days, weeks maybe (HR didn't notify you, you forgot, etc) but you may be grilled about it if you ever try to legalize your status somehow. And that's not to say the immigration officer you get won't even care about it, but the point is to minimize the threat of them having points against you. It's the luck of the draw after all...

For people who received their new EAD cards after their old EAD expired, What is the "valid from" date?
Is it the data that you received your new EAD or the data that the old EAD expired. What I'm trying to find out is if there is a gap between old EAD expiration and new EAD "valid from"

I believe the valid from date is the date your i-765 gets approved, so there is definitely a gap if your EAD already expired, and if it hasn't then you have an overlap.

Doesn't make sense for them to set the starting date for a new EAD as the expiration date of the old one for people that have already expired. It's like telling them "oh here, lets give you authorization to work now for the time that already passed". Yeah sure, let me just use my time reversal superpower to go back a month and a half to get some use out of that.

I'm one of the people from May and not approved yet.

2 years ago I received my EAD one month prior to expiration and the "valid from" date was one day after my old EAD expiration not the date I receive it.

If your EAD expires that also means that you DACA expires, which basically makes you illegal again.
So if I'm illegal and not working that means I'm good.....
But if I'm illegal and working that means I'm not good.....

I don't get that. Once your DACA and EAD expire you are breaking the law anyway because you are illegal

You guys are overthinking it. There is no harm in continuing to work.

At my infopass appointment the USCIS said that the matter of continuing your employment is not a USCIS determination, it is a department of labor and employer question .... that is why some employers have let employees continue working.

So, unless your employer says so, Keep Calm and Work On.
