True, and I've seen that shortly after submitting the additional request - you get approved.

Ah my 601a status updated about a month after received to say "Case Was Updated To Show Fingerprints Were Taken" - they must've used my DACA fingerprints from 2020.

That's good, one less step for you to do for now.

Hi, i saw you postponed your consular interview due to covid last year. I was wondering if you have done your interview yet or you are still waiting?

Not unless your response to your first RFE is no sufficient.

If all they are asking for is copy of GC, it's really cut and dried.

I ask the consulate to extend another year which means that I have to schedule my interview with them before Feb 2022.

I'm in the process of applying for AP, I figure that will give me another layer of safety in case my interview doesn't go smoothly.

I wonder how having the AP would help in our cases, if given the horrible scenario that at the interview we are refused the visa and we are already in our countries. I they reject our case there, then the "ban" kicks in right? would having AP help us come back to the US at that point.

I just sent back response to my RFE by the way. God willing they will accept it. And does anyone know the waiting period for interview appointments in Guatemala., I have seen a facebook page that they were closed and have backed up a lot as well.

The idea with AP is that when you go to your interview, if you get approved, you simply come back with your new visa.

If your visa is denied, then you simply present yourself at the point of entry with your passport and AP, and they'll should let you back in. After that you might even pursue AOS.

That's the main idea, but I dont know of anyone who has tried it.

The wait time for Guatemala... my guess is somewhere between 9- 12 months.

I see. It is hard to time the AP correctly as when you apply for it you must specify the time you are planning to travel and with appointments dates being unclear as to when they would be giving it is even harder to time it correctly.
