i support Obama 100%, I believe he is a man of hes word... hes someone that cares about this issue. him putting this in the back burner is a tactic he uses to keep the atmosphere calm. he DOES NOT want to repeat the mistakes bush made with CIR. He wants to make sure he has the votes to move forward.

it is not Obama's fault when it comes to immigration. he, himself knows that there's Americans out there that he wants to punch in the face. what can this guy do? he is in charge of an idiocratic nation. When he entered into office, a big pile of shyt was left in front of him.

people who are regretting that they voted for him; are stupid. they make the contradiction that if McCain was elected' everything would be better. when in fact; God knows what would've happened. i think OBAMA is regretting he ran for office. he wants to do good for the people, but the moroans don't wan him to help them. they don't give the guy space to breath.

often times people think mostly about bad things; rather than good. the 'Lupe Morano wagon' is made up of idiots who can vote. idiots that make noise; they attract people to their wagon b/c Americans LOVE conspiracy theories, they love a hoax, they love to listen to things that would make them say "woah"...

... another thing. i want one thing to be clear, is he just "starting talks" in fall, or is he "having a vote" by the end of the year.

^ they dont have the time to vote this year. starting talks? sure. but going from talks to having actual congressional floor time and voting on it isnt most likely going to happen this year.

I am in my "realist negative zen" zone.
Well with that attitude good luck trying to get any positive/meaningful work done for any of our causes.

K-Man I support your opinions 100%

Allies in Washington D.C. are saying although the White House meeting delay is a mistake, it is not a setback. Ali Noorani, Executive Director of the National Immigration Forum, issued a statement on behalf of the Reform Immigration FOR America campaign saying, "We think delaying the meeting is a mistake. Momentum is building for comprehensive immigration reform with more and more Americans demanding solutions. The President is too smart not to move on immigration reform this year. We don't see this as a signal that President Obama is stepping back from reform."

I have to go with K-man on this. Don't put up too high expectations for the Dream Act in the next couple of months. We don't want to feel as bad as we did in 2007 all over again because of the delays. Honestly, the most positive thing we can do right now is find some ways to help out IR activists like ReformImmigrationforAmerica.org My father is pretty much banking his whole life on CIR/DA and i'm not going to fall for it. I'll help out how I can, but we all really need to think of back up options. Many of my friends have graduated from college this year and can't get jobs because of their status (even though they have degrees that are highly wanted.) I don't want to be like them, but I might end up that way. What we should do right now is find out what kind of laws our individual states have for college. Oklahoma passed a law in 2003 that allowed for UD Students to go to college. I went and talked to the vice president of my college and he helped me receive some in school scholarships. Everyone should go and talk to who they can. People are willing to help. Start by helping yourself small (talking to school officials) and then wait for CIR. We can't just rely on the government. I'm not trying to be pessimistic, so sorry if i offend anyone in any way.

Putting this in the back burner is a tactic? Maybe it is a tactic for the wrong cause....If Obama doesn't want to repeat the same mistakes of Bush, he has to move forward now.......Bush tried when his political capital was gone.

The one thing you are doing with your quote is being biased. You have to look at his perspective. There are a lot of things going on, mostly fixing the economy. And the next biggest promise he made after that was HCR. With the Justice having to be named as well, i totally understand putting CIR on the back burner.

Oh yeah I'm sure it's easy to try to stabilize a country during its financial crisis, people nagging him responsible (not the congress) for health care, energy and fuel crisis, immigration, pot, _________ (insert your wish for the genie here, because he's obligated to grant your wish.)

I still value his relationship with senator Durbin as a win for us, and it means a world when the bill lands on his desk, because he'll sign it. We have to hold Reid and others accountable to get a progress on the votes, and that's why we have campaigns and rallies.

Do yourself a favor, before pinning him responsible because a hearing got delayed few times, or because you want it right now and it's not here, think about the big picture and all the favorable support we've built up for the vote. Durbin himself said the votes are there, just matter of when.

If you can't grasp the bigger picture, and can't stop throwing an emo, hissy fit like a fat bitch from an audience stand on jenny jones, just deport yourself now and save the trouble. We don't want to hear your naive comments that just make us look retarded.

Yup.

Wtf, all the sudden everyone hates Obama?

Some of you guys are retarded.
