Any new approvals?

Random question...to know how many days we have been waiting for approval, do we start on the day we got the alert they received the packet, or is it from the day we got our biometrics done?

I was told once by an officer that their processing time starts from the date you did your biometrics. He told me that to confirm that my case was not outside the normal processing time. I did my biometrics on June 29th so according to him I have a whole other month for my case to be delayed. Granted, there was another officer who told me there was no "normal" processing time so technically no one case is ever delayed. It doesn't matter how many days/months have passed. Bunch of BS I say.

it's wrong and the officer didn't know what he was talking about, but again, this isn't the first time we've heard USCIS's own officers spreading misinformation.

I wanted to update you about my situation. I can't believe I can finally update the spreadsheet. See below for a quick timeline and the issue of waiting about 6 months for approval.

Application received - 06/07/2016
Biometrics - Scheduled 10/26/16 Walk-in 10/12/16
EAD Expiration - 09/11/16

Received a notice that card is currently being printed: 11/21/16

It took 5 1/2 months or 162 days to receive notice of approval. I should also make clear on November 3rd, I received a letter stating they needed more information on my case. I checked the letter and it turns out I did not complete one question in the application. "Have you ever murdered someone, committed a crime, etc" question. They gave me the same question and for me to sign. I sent it back immediately and I got approved today.

I think a combination of the incomplete application and the huge delay USCIS had, it took this long to process. This is my 3rd time renewing (the first 2 times everything took about 2 1/2 months).

I get to enjoy my permit for another few months until we know for use if Trump will leave us alone. Cheers to the future and everyone's support in this forum!

Finally got approved today. Application received on 8/16/16!

what steps are you guys taking to have someone look into your file??? i have done ombudsman, nilc, several service requests to no avail.
Last two service requests were answered almost a month after inquiring and just say ... we need additional reviews on your case...
then when i call again, .. they say they just answered the service request a few days ago and cant put in a new one.

i checked my app thru elis and both documents seem to have everything filled out, nothing missing. 180+days...
