My lawyer is charging me $1,000 in fees on top of the filing fees ($1,760). This guy is well known in the Indonesian immigrant community for helping file AOS marriage petitions. My mom used the firm, and our family friends used it, too.

I paid the filing fee plus $500 for the legal fees.

Also to update: I just got notified that they mailed my card yesterday!!! I am so happy!!!

1,720 for everything by myself. If you have a clean record save yourself some cash from lawyer fees.

I'm scared that I'm going to miss some files/supporting stuff and get an RFE, which would delay everything.

I made a list myself based on the requirements for both applications and did a checklist. You shouldn't miss anything if you do it carefully.

Biometrics: 8/5/16 (Appoitment letter received 7/25)
Interview: 12/15/2016 approved on the spot.
Card received: 12/23/2016 (best Christmas present ever!)
