Report: Dems Open To A DACA Deal With Border Security — But No Funding For The Wall
ALLAHPUNDITPosted at 5:31 pm on September 6, 2017

Congressional officials from both sides of the aisle hinted that they would support a bill re-applying legal protections for the so-called DREAMers—undocumented immigrants brought to the country as children—in exchange for border security measures that did not include funding a wall along the southern border. A top Senate Democratic aide said that the party would be open to agreeing to items such as additional drone operations, fencing and sensors; but not a “presidential vanity project.”

Democrats will be tested too. Officials in the White House have indicated that they will insist any immigration legislation also include elements to strengthen enforcement, including, presumably, money for the wall along the Mexican border that Mr. Trump has made a centerpiece of his presidency. Mr. Schumer said money for some type of border security might be acceptable to Democrats, but under no circumstances would Democrats agree to pay for a border wall.

REPUBLICANS TELL DEMOCRATS: 'WE'LL GIVE YOU DACA IF YOU FUND TRUMP'S BORDER WALL'
BY GRAHAM LANKTREE ON 9/5/17 AT 6:40 AM

Senior Congressional Republicans are willing to work with Democrats to keep a program allowing young people who came to America illegally with their parents to stay in the U.S. But Democrats will in return have to give President Donald Trump funding for his border wall.

The same senior Republicans that oppose the wall because it is irresponsible spending.

Ryan is the one who calls the shot, he is not for a wall...

McConnel also opposes a wall...

They will have to compromise. It is either that or nothing...
The political fallout will.be on Republicans which ever way it goes.

did u know what happened today?

The Senate already approved a harvey relief aid and to increase the debt ceiling that Trump-Schumer-Pelosi agreed to a 3 month extension of the debt ceiling to the dismay of Paul Ryan and McConell because they wanted an 18 month extension.

The Democrats already have the leverage right now in Washington, The republicans need democrats to pass any tax reform, spending bill, avert govt shutdown, hurricane relief aid, and ANY debt ceiling extensions.

The Dems have the power 3 months from now because Chuck Schumer already promised to attached the DREAM ACT to and spending bill, harvey/irma relief aid, and the debt ceiling that will expire in December.

Trump caved to Pelosi-Schumer last night, and the senate passed it today.

Yes, Democrats and DACA advocacy groups have drawn their line on the sand, absolutely no compromise on DACA in exchange for a border wall funding according to Schumer. And they have the backing of DACA advocacy groups on their position.

It is the GOP that has to stand down and settle for border drones and sensor money.

That mentality that no enforcement is needed and all or nothing should be done is terrible and illogical. The reason nothing happens with immigration reform is because of that type of mentality. Laws do need to get reformed and updated to fit a modern America. Hopefully DA gets a chance and people like these are ignored.
