You should consult an attorney before filing an I-601A waiver and before departing the United States."
Anyone know about this (visa w/ someone else’s name)? I’ve met with different lawyers and none have mention this option.

Are you able to provide the format you used for your I-601A letter? This will be very helpful for us.

The final "letter" was very long because it detailed each hardship and broke them down. We even had to go see a psychologist so they could evaluate us and that was part of the psychological hardship. The best breakdown I can give you of the letter is highlight the effect of each form of hardship (financial, health, psychological etc...) and detail how it will affect the petitioner and any USC minors/senior citizens that might be involved. Again my case was evaluated and prepared by a very good lawyer so that helped and honestly I would never recommend you do an i601a yourself.

Any updates on your case? I’m in the same boat with a final order. I sent out my I-130 3 months ago. How was the interview? Also, any fear of being detained during an 1-130 interview? My brother was deported when he went to adjust his status years ago.

Demise posted an update 2-3 months ago.

He was able to have his order admin closed and I-130 approved I believe. I think Demise mentioned about starting I-601 now.

Did you and your brother have an order derivatively from a parent's case?

I finally received my appointment date for NVC in ciudad Juarez. I had my I-601A approved in September.

What is your timeline? Do long did it take for your I-130 and I601A?

That's amazing and encouraging to hear. Yes, I received voluntary departure which turned into a final order through my parents. I was 10 years old at the time.
