Under the current conditions, the repubs controlling all branches, this bill is probably the best we can do. It doesn't mean I have to like the fact it will sell out a lot of people. But, it is what it is.
Oh for sure it will hurt the undocumented community, but personally I think this bill will hurt the legal community more. Not that any of that is right, but unfortunately that's the mess were in.

Very true. I think its going to get messy and I hope negotiations don't turn ugly. If in fact, these points are negotiable.

Alright time to look at statistics by DHS

The most recent enforcement figures released by the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) on December 30 offer the latest evidence of these trends. Eighty-five percent of all removals and returns during fiscal year (FY) 2016 were of noncitizens who had recently crossed the U.S. border unlawfully.

https://www.migrationpolicy.org/arti...r-chief-or-not
For 2016 85% of people deported were those who had recently crossed.

It doesn't specify the word recently. It could be days, months or maybe a year or two. An article I found also explains that in fiscal year 2015, 91 percent of people removed from inside the U.S. were previously convicted of a crime.

In 2015, 81 percent, or 113,385, of the removals were the priority one removals.

Priority two includes "misdemeanants and new immigration violators."

That includes "aliens convicted of three or more misdemeanor offenses, other than minor traffic" violations, as well as those convicted of domestic violence, sexual abuse, burglary, DUIs or drug trafficking.

Their priority was also focused on those who have arrived after January 1, 2014.

Ok let's just say they were deported "recently". They were still deported no matter what. Isn't that the samething people are giving Trump crap over this damn wall?

Also families were broken up under Obama, I can find you articles of that as well. It still doesn't make it any difference, a deportation is a deportation no matter how you try to paint it as.
