This is a very unsatisfying proposition and it doesn't resolve the issue in terms of long-term. We will continue to become nothing but punching bags for these politicians for the years to come. Either all of it or none of it!
Speak for yourself man, I’d rather this than go back to the shadows.

Renewal work permit + ability to freely travel for $25b of his wall money. I think many of us will be happy to take that.

But some of you need to wake the fuck up and realize it's 2018 and Dream Act aint happening. False hope is stupid plain and simple. Who gives a shit about Path way to USC/ treated like a second class citizen? What do you think we are today? Think about the long game - get relief now and get married or you can still hold out hope for dream act 50 years from now when democrats take over the world.

Last mass amnesty was in the 80s and in a very different political climate globally. Anti immigrant sentiment today unfortunately prevails worldwide. Go and huddle with our illegal parent is NOT admirable. You are just uninformed. Sometimes I feel like crazy UWD infiltrated this forum seriously

I agree with this.

I'd be ok with Thune's bill, which would give us renewable work permits. Not a big fan of flake's idea because the shit is temporary. Make it renewable.

No way he's getting his 25B for his wall without giving us at the very least GC. That's a suckers deal. What if we can't find a wife in 3 years? He doesn't need to bargain again for a wall he already has.

We can agree that anti-immigrant sentiments are on the rise in general worldwide, however; we also know that Dreamers specifically are looked at in a different and more positive light in the general public. Basically, our government (mostly congress), is not a true representation of the people, and that's why things aren't happening for us, which is not fair in an ideal world. Maybe that's why many of us can't suck up and take the wall for extended daca, because it just is not how it should be playing out in this country in accordance with most peoples' beliefs. Also, an unequal exchange passing would subtlety change public perception about how future immigrants are looked at and treated in life and in politics. It would be good for us directly, but taking into account its impact, I believe that an unequal exchange is the morally wrong decision.

What?? Even Grassley bill is way better than this. I'd rather have them spend more time and make some changes to that one than have a permanent DACA.

Not everyone wants to go the marriage route to get citizenship.

Point taken. It is a suckers deal, but that's the hand that we are dealt with (why? ask Schumer). Democrats got outplayed.

In the worst case you get to work, live, plan your future and freely travel without fear of deportation. In the best case, for those who believe democrats will rule the world in 2020, they will save us then. But let me remind folks who forget, they deprioritized us as soon as they gained control of the government. Not until 2012, right before a reelection, they did DACA, which was a 2 year renewal work permit.

I don't see a huge difference between a GC and a renewable work permit+travel. Maybe someone can explain? Maybe the fees? The point I made about getting married is IF you really care about citizenship. If you don't, then you don't need to readjust your status. In my view, 10-12 years path to citizenship has little value to fight for.

Yep, that's part of the huge problem is that the Democrats just refuse to use their leverage.
