Hi everyone,

Thank you for everyone's shares. This forum has been very helpful and has been a source of emotional support while we were waiting for my husband's DACA renewal this year. Definitely will apply 6 months early next time. Here is our timeline:

3/2/17 - Biometrics
5/30/17 - NCSC contacted
5/31/17 - Congressman contacted (staffer responded same day, privacy release forms filled)
6/1/17 - Ombudsman contacted (responded & contacted USCIS on 6/16)
6/1/17 - NILC contacted (no response)
6/1/17 - Ombudsman 3 staffers contacted (no response)
6/1/17 - SCOPSSCATA@dhs.gov emailed (no response)
6/11/17 - DACA/EAD expired
6/12/17 - Congressional inquiry sent
6/15/17 - I-765 approved
6/18/17 - I-821D approved

Total time: 130 days

Keeping you all in my prayers.

I started my application renewal process around February 2017. I faced a couple of problems due to money order issues (as I put the wrong amount and my lawyer had to send back my money order). I then tried to exchange the money order to the correct amount but had to send it by mail and had to wait until my money was returned in check form through the mail. Which took foreverrr My application was finally sent out and received on April 17th, 2017. Mind you, my permit itself expired on April 27th, 2017. Biometrics appointment was done on May 8th. My status has not changed at all since then. I'm really stressed and cannot wait until I get my approval because I'm in desperate need of a job! Everyone that I've talked to has asked me why I waited so long to send in my renewal but the truth is that I had no money to do so. Times are definitely rough these days.

When you go for the biometrics did you have any problems? My daca is gonna expire a day before I have my appt and I'm kind of scared anything could happen to me.

Why don't you try going before your card expires?

You can do a walk-in in most places I believe. As long as you already have the letter and they're not too busy, they should take you in.
