Sent in my application for the third time renewal on June 19th via USPS.

Package was received on the 20th and biometrics letter was sent out for July 18th.

Got a notice that my EAD has been approved today. Literally a day after biometrics I was approved.

This has been the quickest and fastest I have ever processed my application.

My current EAD expires on November 27.

Thanks! My case was routed to the infamous Harrisonburg Storage Center. I was just shocked of how quickly this approval went.

Guys, I'm getting anxious. I filed for my renewal on 3/27/2017, took the biometric in April, and haven't heard anything back yet. My DACA expires on 08/07/2017. What is taking soooo long???? Anyone else have this issue??

Funny you should ask....first I used my savings hoping for the best case scenario of a quick renewal...and as the time went by, I went from using a part of my savings, to eventually their majority, ultimately reaching the point of entirety . Say what you will but a guy who has just only recently crossed the threshold of 30, and is a very serious long term relationship is simply not able to generate enough savings for more than 3 months (Im talking about a relationship so serious that if my status were not an issue -(which I had not disclosed as of yet because the way I look it at, the relationship will either end, or even if she is ok with it, and I am sure it she would be, there would always be this dark cloud of over the marriage and the reasons behind it) we would be at least engaged with a set date for the wedding.

I also happened to encounter the four-fecta of things that drain your money, first Christmas, then her Birthday that happens to fall all the way at the end of January so I couldnt couple it with Christmas lol, then Valentine's day (yeah, trying to play that down isnt worth the hassle) , and then finally our 3 year anniversary.

I also happened to make a HUGE mistake - in retrospect - that is. My old car broke down, and I bought a new cheap one ($2500+250 in repairs ) literarly DAYS after my EAD expired. In NYS, even though my DL was still valid, the DMV refused to allow me to register it without first updating my temporary visitor status.

At that point, even if I wanted to work under the table (which would have brought a long line of questions - I have MS in Atomic Physics, and two Bachelors, one in Physics and the other in Elec Engineering, so all of a sudden working as a buser in a restaurant etc. would have led to too many questions) my lack of transportation prevented me from doing so.

However I was given the perfect opportunity, that a) allowed me both enough leeway as far as the reason why I was taking a break from working b) why working for $10-$12/h instead of working on my project, would have actually cost me money in the long run. c)thanks to the money I saved and the amount of work I put in myself, I have earned enough sympathy until next Christmas.

What saved me: at the house that we moved into last year, under a rent-to-own clause (we are responsible for all the maintenance and repairs as per contract) , had what started as just a minor leak in the bathroom when we moved in. After maybe a month, the leak became more and more of a problem. Since this was the only bathroom in the house, in order for me to work on it, I had to a) get "approval" from my girlfriend lol b) obviously get her out of the house for originally at least 3 days. My gf- being stubborn as she is, kept saying that it wasnt that bad, and for more than 6 months we watched the bathroom deteriorate in front of our eyes. c) By the time I finally got her to go on a 7 day trip to visit her sister, all the tiles on the shower walls have fallen off, the
glass in the shower window was broken, and the floor planks had rotten to a point that the moment after she left and I started the demo first by unscrewing and lifting the toilet, 1/3 of the bathroom floor (2" meshed mortar bed with tiles on top of it) gave in, in front of my eyes and collapsed straight down into the basement. Once I finished the demo and saw how substantial the damage was, I called around for fun to see what quotes I would get from General Contractors. The lowest I got was $28,000 but he wanted at least 10-weeks to finish it, but once he saw the extent of the work needed, he said that he couldnt do it for less than $35,000.

Instead I decided to do every thing by myself - mind you we are not atalking about a simple renovation, but essentially an installation of a brand new bathroom from scratch, as I ripped out everything, plumbing, electrical, hell I even ended up cutting a new drain for the toilet to replace the old school DWV copper with PVC) in did every single thing, and the total cost hasn't exceeded $2500 yet, and that includes a brand new bathtub, vanity, all the floor and shower tiles among other things. I think they only thing I kept was the toilet, because since the bathtroom was the only one in the house, having working toilet was kind of essential (I simply installed it to the untiled floor top of cement backerboard underlayment, until I finally reached the point of tiling the floor itself)
