I was watching tv the other day when out of the blue Tonny Robbins(Inspirational Public Speaker) poped up on Good Morning America. Although he has no relevance to the Dream Act what he said felt like a slap in the face.
He talked about the state of the economy and how most Americans feel pretty depressed with the economic situation. Yet he said that it has been proven that when times are good economically speaking people tend to perform better in life. He talked about the times during the Clinton administration and how it was during this times that we had the Columbine shootings and a high number of crime in individual cities.
So whats my point? He said that most of the things we do in life are 50% mind and the rest is done with spirit. Which basically means that whatever you do now and in the future you have to bring things to a next level while remaining positive.
As undocumented students it is very depressing to live our lives with the economic and immigration situation. But let not your heart be troubled because the key to making it through this tunnel is to remain postive while looking past our situation (most people say they don't know what they will do once they become legalized) We have to look at this as a pasive situation. Kind of like when it rains in your town, you tend to feel down and depressed but you know that the rain wont be there for ever and the sun will eventually come out.
The same can be said in our case, we haver to organize better meaning that we have to fight for our dreams while helping eachother in any way we can and not let organizations which i will not name control how we organize just so they can say "I was (we were) the ones who fought and won" if you know what i am saying. Just an article for any Dreamer to consider and remember that you are not alone and we WILL get through this because our lives depend on this.
Thank you for your time. Blue12
P.S. Thanks to Tonny Robbins fo giving me a little fuel in my mind and spirit.
