While the DREAM Act has broad bipartisan support, it's too early to know whether it will become law this year. Some immigrant rights advocates oppose passing the DREAM Act as a stand-alone law. They are hoping for reform that would help all undocumented immigrants - something President Obama has promised.

Still, if broad reform becomes impossible, the DREAM Act may become a viable first step in legalizing the U.S. undocumented population. One piece of good news is that DREAM Act's chief proponent in the Senate is President Obama's old friend, Sen. Dick Durbin (D-Ill.). Other supporters include Richard Lugar (R-Ind.) and Representatives Howard Berman (D-Calif.) and Lincoln Díaz-Balart (R-Fla.)

The DREAM Act has strong backing from unions, religious leaders and, of course, the country's growing (and voting) immigrant community. But the most important support group could be college and university presidents. After all, every member of Congress is an alumni of some college.

Want the DREAM Act passed? Go lobby your local college or university president. Tell him or her to make passing the DREAM Act a priority

Do not attempt to fight them with logic. I like to throw those dogs a bone every once and while with some off the wall b/s.
What you said.

Also, the idea of going to Deans in College and Community Colleges is great. The former organizer went to a local community college and told him about the Dream Act. The Dean send a Memo to all staff stating full support. He also asked them to call our state and Federal representatives asking for the Dream Act to be a priority.
