President Barack Obama and Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, D-Nev., say they want to pass a comprehensive immigration reform law this year.

But Sen. Saxby Chambliss, R-Ga., says he doesn’t see how Congress will have the time to take up such legislation.

“I don’t see how they can seriously bring up immigration reform when we’ve got the health care reform debate we are going to have. The president said the other day he wants a (health care) bill on his desk by Oct. 15,” he said. “That means we’d have to pass a bill between now and the time we break in the first week of August. You throw in a Supreme Court nominee who has got to have hearings and debates. And you’ve got all 13 appropriation bills that have to be passed. I don’t see how, from a time perspective, where they can have a floor debate on immigration. We haven’t even had any hearings this year on it.”

he's got a legit point. and its gonna be even more difficult with republican jackasses stalling any sort of attempt to expedite the process.

The same way Obama has come through on his other promises is how.

Half of October, November, December, January, Thats 1/4 a year. Thats more time than they have took discussion immigration than the past 9 years combined... but sure they don't have "enough" time .

Never trust a Republican.

He is a republican trying to appeal to his voters. Simple as that.

Didn't Chambliss realize there's already been two immigration hearings already? He's confused, lying, or both.
