DREAM Mock Graduation In San Jose CA

Hi everyone,

It's last minute, but I am trying to organize a "Mock" Graduation/ Dream Action in San Jose on June 23rd. This is to promote the DREAM Act and show solidarity with The United We Dream Coalition and Dreamactivist.org which will be holding a National DREAM Act Graduation ceremony in Washington D.C. on June 23rd. (The event will be attended by over 500 students from across the country. Also, representatives from Microsoft and College Board will be in attendance and will hand out Activism Awards to students who have proved outstanding leadership. Right after the Graduation ends, they will be visiting the offices of legislators to urge them to support the DREAM Act.)

There will be several similar events nation wide, including Los Angeles, Houston ect.

I know there are several of you that have organized similar events so any feed back would be appreciated. Issues as getting city permission (if we need it?) and press?

I have contacts at KNTV fox 2, as well as local univision and telemundo networks, Allianza news and Debug Magazine.


I will work tonight on getting more information and organizational details done. Please let me know if interested ASAP
