Hey guys,

I've been a reader of the forum for a couple months now but never posted much. I have decided that I can no longer be a spectator but an active contributor.

Its becoming increasingly evident that the DREAM ACT is a topic that will be discussed heavily during the upcoming immigration reform. We are at a point where the US can no longer ignore our existance and presence in this country. It is time that we act out loud if we really want to gather the much needed support for our cause.

I have a plan to make our stories public, and by doing so I hope those who read our situations can deeper understand our noble intentions to be an intricate part of this great country which we would one day like to call our own. We all come from diverse backgrounds, many nations, and many struggles. Some of us have been able to partially succeed in the US, but have been devastatingly limited in some way or another.

I would like for all of us to write a story, or essay, in which we describe our situation. We must discuss from the moment we arrived here, how we grew up, adapted, felt discriminated, struggled, perceviered, etc.

I have though of creating a website in which I will publish all of the submissions on a daily basis, as I receive them. With the internet being available to millions around the country, the world, it would be a great outlet for our information to be available to everyone who wishes to be enlightened. Most importantly, we can email, facebook, twitter, digg, stumblupon, etc as promotion for the webpage, which can definately gain relevance in the up coming washington debates.

Please read this over with optimism and let's get this project rolling. If I get enough replies or messages, I will move forward on this immediately. Once I have the webpage I will post it on this message.

wouldnt it be better if we wrote a letter, and we all send it to the white house in one particular date??? Just an idea, I'll be down to do that.

i agree i believe that there is that nostalgic feeling of writing an actual letter and sending it; however it is more convenient to just email the letters, but whatever method you all decided to do i'm totally to do it.

^^ Yerah but e-mail.. ehhh

I think is better if we do send letters in,

all of us ship them out on an exact date, so like there could get a whole bunch at one time!!

Now its the time to act people!!

im down to do this, but we gotta unite and do this,

I totally agree, lets just ditch emails and send em the real ones. Heck, chances are they'll pay more attention to actual, physical, tangible letters than ones sent over electronically. I don't even bother to read half the emails I get (I mark them as spams) but I take time to read actual letters that I receive.

Flooding their mailbox with real letters is more effective than flooding their email accounts with cyber letters because last time I checked, its much more difficult to get rid of actual mails in your mailbox, all addressing the same topic, without getting the message whereas in computers, you can just delete all of them with a single push of a button without leaving any trace of evidence (so its better to ignore I guess). But thats just my opinion so don't hold me accountable for what I've said. I was merely stating what I believe to be is a commonsense.

Original poster is talking about posting stories to a dedicated website, not sending emails. DreamActivist already has a story section, but it might be an interesting idea to create a site specifically dedicated to stories.
