i havent seen much on this but i think just like most progressive activism organizations we have to hold constant (weekly) vigils/protest outside the offices of public officials, the white house, and on the street to get the word out to regular people. i belong to this website called moveon.org(its a progressive grass roots group) and they constantly send emails to see if anyone wants to host a vigil/protest on a specefic date or if one is going to happen in your city. and then people can rsvp for the event. all very local, like you shouldnt get an email about a vigil in another state and stuff.

sending letters is all good but i feel like we need to get out there so people can see that illegals arent sweaty 40 year old men that drive drunk every weekend, but american teens that have awesome productive lives and that are more american then anything else. i dont know if this going on anywhere but i would like to see in that time of format since they've been pretty succesful in some areas of their activism. They also recieve money to ran hard hitting commercials in major cities , how awesome would it be to see a pro immigration reform commercial on tv?! this anti war movement group I'm also a part of have gotten lots of tv time when they host vigils on busy streets using megaphones and sometimes act out sketches which really gets people to stop and look. It would be really interesting to see how we could implement these activism techniques that have been stablished by bigger grass roots organizations.
It would even be to our benefit to not focus so much on the dream act part of immigration reform all the time, securing our borders and airports to stop the drug war and the illegal child/women sex slave trade happening is equally important, as it goes hand in hand with the dream act. If done right the dream act should be last legislation ofits kind to ever pass, It wouldnt be right to pass this and fifteen years later have another generation of undocumented students. the cycle would repeat it self, and I cant live with that.
lets really get a site started up that really wants to go hard on the subject, what do you guys think?

of course please prvate message me if you're on my same page and want to see this happen, it would require some hard working people for this
