We’ve come close to making the DREAM Act law before. Last Congress, our bill received 52 votes in the Senate, a majority vote – including 11 Republicans – but we needed 60 under Senate rules. Since then, support for the DREAM Act has grown and the bill now has 38 cosponsors. If Democrats and Republicans come together, we can pass comprehensive immigration reform legislation, including the DREAM Act, in 2010.

Isn't it only 35 co-sponsors? THOMAS has 37 listed, but that includes Kennedy(r.i.p.) and Martinez (retired)...

Either way, they should bring it up...it has the votes.

Aren't you banned from this site?
I liked it that way.
Please do some research before you post your nonsense.

CIR and DA are two different things. There is a DA bill already written, sitting there with republican support. CIR has nothing.

isn't DA under the CIR? and if he says CIR won't pass, doesn't that mean DA won't pass, and no one is introducing DA by itself yet...and why doesn't he introduce DA by itself since he "knows" CIR won't do? i guess i'm just pissed at the fact that there are no good news lately...
