Just heard on CNN, Obama met with some leader's to discuss immigration today and tomorrow meeting with hispanic caucus on this issue. Let's see what news we are going to hear tomorrow. Not too much optimistic as mentioned earlier it all looks politics now before election time. Nothing accomplished in last two years just a pep talk from him and his administration. But, I still pray everyday for the good news )

What's left on Congress agenda? Kagan hearings are going on now, Financial reform bill needs to be voted on, Dont ask dont tell ? maybe, Climate bill stalled due to oil spill. It's time to do something with us, pass the Dream Act now. It would take a day or two at most to discuss, will it not? The bill is written and just needs to be brought to the floor and voted on. Obama has been meeting with immigration activists for last 2 years with no results. What is the purpose of this particular meeting?

a very small chat indicating nothing will be done as republicans won't move an inch. They want border security first. Tht's wht they asked before with bush gov. n they got the fence and all the equipment, now more complaints and still no CIR. These bastards don't want to do anything. I wish they never get elected. No Republicans at all.

Obama, Activists to Push on Immigration Reform
By THE ASSOCIATED PRESS
Filed at 7:23 p.m. ET

WASHINGTON (AP) -- President Barack Obama is enlisting activists and labor leaders in a push for comprehensive immigration legislation that will showcase Republican opposition and include a major speech by the president.

The strategy was discussed during a meeting Monday by a range of prominent labor leaders and activist groups. Participants said Obama reiterated his support for immigration legislation but noted the political realities that have stalled it in Congress.

Latino leaders say they will work in coming months to pressure Republicans to give way and support an immigration bill -- and make opponents pay at the ballot box if they don't.

''We're going to make absolutely crystal clear who's at fault here,'' said Eliseo Medina, a leader of the Service Employees International Union.

Even so, prospects for passage of comprehensive immigration legislation look bleak this election year, and even many Democrats are wary of wading into the hot-button issue. But Obama, who pledged as a candidate to make immigration reform a top priority during his first year in office, faces pressure from the Hispanic community to act -- or at least to try.

That's only intensified in the wake of Arizona's passage of a controversial law that requires police officers to question a person's immigration status if there's reason to suspect the person is in the country illegally. Obama has spoken out against the law and asked the Justice Department to examine its legality. Activists anticipate that the Justice Department will sue to overturn the law, but in Monday's meeting Obama said that decision would be left up to the department, and he didn't give a timeline, participants said.

The White House said Obama would deliver a speech soon on ''the importance of passing comprehensive immigration reform'' but didn't give more details.

OMG, a speech! LMAO, I knew it. We get a talk about what we already know, what ke knows, and the rest of the country knows. I can't take this s*** anymore.

Thank u for d link. One thing is very clear. All POLITICS. This old and wrinkly bitch has taken this issue to another road. She claims tht most of the illegals are drug smugglers, she is playing her best politics and trying to show her people how much she is doing great wrk and fighting for them. And Mr. Obama didn't do anything for the last two years, even the bill is not written yet and he is insisting tht he wants the CIR bill this year. Hasn't even filed the lawsuit against SB1070. JUST TALK N TALK NO ACTION (( Everybody is doing their best to play d games not releasing tht they r talking about human beings and their lives and livelyhood. All they care is there damn jobs, how sad. 10 TO 12 million living in shadows doesn't mean anything to them.

They should atleast get something for the people living here more ten years. Some kind of life act kind of the law. But who knows. Just a thought.
