Page 11 discusses widening the used of "Deferred Action" on individuals who are DA eligible in case DA fails. USCIS estimates that 50K individuals are Dream Act eligible.

Only 50K? Are we all doomed?

We have been fighting for a legislation that could save only 50K?

2.1 million -> 50K saved, and 2.05 million left out.

Sure, it's the USCIS, the people in professional deportation business. They know how many illegals are graduating from high school, how many are in college, where they live, etc.

i HIGHLY doubt that there are only 50K Undocumented students that would benefit from the DREAM Act, dont panic man things seem to be going on behind closed doors in congress. supposedly they might try to pass it before the August recess (Doubt it) but also i read somewhere they might try after the elections, either way it seems like they are about to start taking action but they are still politicians which are basically BAD actors... so never trust what they say until they prove it.

Now if you guys notice it says that you have to have been in the US since 1996. That might have been how they came up with 50k.

USCIS would not have a correct statistics of how many "undocumented" students who are eligible for the Dream Act. Gosh, the students are undocumented !!!

"Deferred action" is relief for the students who are caught and placed on deportation proceeding. If a student who is eligible for Dream Act got caught by ICE, he/she could be granted a stay in U.S., aka "deferred action", until further action is taken.

It said people who would be eligible under the dream act OR those who have resided in the U.S since 1996.

In the memo, it specifies two groups who could qualify for "deferred action": Dreamers, and people who have been here since 1996.

The Harvard student, who was caught at the airport a few weeks ago, is a good example of Dreamer who is granted "deferred action". He could temporarily stay and work in the country, but he's now on the record and could be deported anytime if no legislative action occurs.

I thought this could be possibly a great news for all of us Dreamers.

They could create a form dedicated to grant deferred action to us Dreamers.
