I got a reply from John McCain...

Hey guys...

I regularly fax senators and congressmen to support DA, and obviously one of them is McCain.
This morning, I got a reply from him....

From what I got out of it, it's not necessarily a "nay".
He wants border secured first (nothing new), but looks like he could be swayed on our side (again) if there's enough support in the senate.
This means, we gotta keep calling/faxing to get more senators on board.

And that, is up to us...

I always had this one question in my mind when someone says we gotta keep calling or faxing to senetors.

if hundreds or even thousands of "dreamers" spam the senetors' mailbox or their phones with same messages, won't they change their mind to more likely nay rather than yay because of reading/hearing similar stories over and over again?

I think it is ok for some dreamers to contact senetors if they know what they are talking about but from most of the videos of people calling representatives or senetors that i see, all they say is "please pass the dream act. We are tired of this.", which the senetors already know.

I dont think this is a maybe sounds like a nice way of saying forget about it. Isnt this the same man who sponsored the dream but left the floor minutes to it being vote on? I dont know but I dont trust McCain. He seems to play flip flop, on the fence too much.

Mccain still wants more than 600 Million dollars about 250 new hires for ICE and BP, and UAV's? careful for what you wish for.

I think the key is to tell senators not only WHY we think DA is important, but WHO would benefit from it.
In my fax, I stressed the fact that the whole country could benefit because most of those who qualify for DA are already good citizens to begin with, and imagine what we could do if we could legally contribute to the military and the economy. That has a better chance of getting their attention versus wailing over the phone asking them to pass DA.

way to take the initiative dreamy14. instead of sitting around and complaining us dreamers should follow your example.

hahaha...thank you. and I actually like faxing better because it's more personal when you write something you've experienced. You can reach out to sen/reps with a better voice.

That...and I stutter on the phone when I'm nervous...so I don't call.

McCain is not a NAY ! What he is doing is to protect himself from the extremist Tea Party candidate in the Arizona Republican Senate Primary. I bet after the primary election on 8/25 is over, McCain will be more supportive for CIR.
