Hello guys, This is my first time being here. I have been following the Dream Act for almost a year now. I am a Filmmaker from Fort Worth Tx. I am currently working with Storied Productions (http://storiedproductions.com/). The Documentary will follow the life of a few Undocumented students and follow there struggles in school and after school. The main character will be me a Filmmaker as I try and make a film and enter it into contest and film festivals, but the restrictions and struggles as a Undocumented student get in the way. Some of my closest friends have no idea that I am undocumented and I am ready to come out. I will be revealing to them my long kept secret and hope to get their support. I want the Dream Act to be a main part of the documentary as we work to get the bill passed. If not hopefully the documentary will get people motivated enough to act out. We need all the support we can get. Give me your opinions and thoughts, lets get this bill passed!

I love documentaries, and I think this is an awesome way to get the message out. I just finished watching "Which Way Home " by Rebecca Cammisa, but any ways I think that documentaries can both be touching and purposeful, both sentimental and informative. I have seen some pretty dramatic ones which open your eyes to the many realities that surround us in this world, so I ask how are you planning to capture your audience attention? And other than idea sharing what other type of support are you looking for?

Thank you for replyingI plan to capture the audience by making a very entertaining and creative documentary. This will not be an ordinary documentary it will be very artistically put together and well made. I want the audience to see how normal and American I seem and make it known to them, that just because one is undocumented doesn't mean they don't have the potential for success. I want them to know that the only thing holding us back from giving back to the country we call home is an opportunity to be able to work and road to citizenship. The type of support I am looking for at the moment is to get everyones attention, create a buzz and spark some flames. From there hopefully some financial support, from producers or fundraisers will come. Also we are planning on making a teaser trailer to help promote the documentary and comments and views would help land some finance. Once again I appreciate you taking the time to reply.

Also, I agree with you about documentaries. They are great! I will have to check that one out. A very touching documentary I have seen is After Innocence. This is one of the inspirations for what documentaries can do!

Definitely will be here in the Dallas/Fort Worth area for now. We want to travel during the filming and interview senators and such. Right now we are not necessarily asking for peoples money, but time from some one who is well established in running a fundraiser and such support. If you or anyone you know of are interested please help pass the message!

It has to be shocking to get attention. I watched a documentary on the treatment of women in the Muslim world and I could not get it out of my mind for weeks. That is the kinda of feeling that has to be left with people that watch a documentary on the dream act.

Definitely Agree! The biggest shock factor would be if someone was to get deported, But I don't want to put anyone in that kind of situation. Documentaries for the most part develop naturally, and if we happen to capture something then great. Great Input Thank you for your comment! I really appreciate it. Keep on fighting for the Dream Act and spread the word if you please could!
