Hello everyone,

I might be stupid for suggesting this. But, do any of you think that the governments of Canada or the UK would help us out in terms of immigrating to their countries under a bill like the DA if we got their attention via a petition or something???????

Well, you may or may not be.

But what are you actually suggesting we petition for?

Immigrating to Canada or the UK is super risky. Perhaps, we could make an international plea based on human rights for one of these countries to help us by letting us immigrate through a special bill, utlimately allowing us to accomplish our goals and contribute to their economic development

rather go back to Mexico than do that. Has it came across your mind that maybe people in those countries dont want us there. I've researched this online and theres a lot of racism especially in Europe..

When the Dream Act got defeated in December, Hugo Chavez invited all the dreamers to Venezuela

So that's been his ploy the whole time. He wants me home. :P

Actually, I agree with MalditoDuende. Most of the developed countries aren't exactly jumping at the idea of increased immigration. The U.S. is the best hope, in that respect.

This has been discussed before. One of our fellow members TIKVA I believe contacted the Canadian embassy about this. Plz try searching for the thread in the lounge. Its a great initiative but I really doubt another government would go all out when our own government doesn't give a crap. Canada would have to completely revise their immigration requirements and create a new way for us to move there.

Depends on the country. Some of the european ones are flooded with immigrants, and I don't think they will be of much help to you.

Canada might be a good option. The US would not look to good if its northern neighbor took us in.

Well, this doesn't necessarily have to do with immigration, but theres always the U.N. who supports and promote human rights. Amnesty international, a branch of UN organization (no, it does not have anything to do with immigration amnesty btw), is targetting injustice like descrimination and violating education rights which could very much be affected with our situation. If we can find a way to tie our situation with some of the issues they're fighting, then we can possibly campaign for their support. It could be possible.

here's their website, and some info to check out:
