For those of you that that are not aware, Jonathan and Isaac where arrested after they went undercover into a detention center and claimed they were undocumented. The purpose of this action was to demonstrate the different treatment between similar individuals who acted in a highly public case and those that where not public going in, and also show that for two set of comparable individuals, DREAM Act eligible the treatment is different. It also served to document the story of two DREAM Act eligible youth as they go through the deportation process which Obama and ICE claim is not taking place.

Right now, Jonathan and Isaac's case is being treated as an END case (Education Not Deportation), and as such dreamactivist and other organizations are organizing to make calls and get Jonathan and Isaac out of detention center and back home before thanksgiving.

A facebook group has been created with this purpose:

Quote:
Isaac Barrera and Jonathan Perez took part of last weeks action of civil disobedience in Alabama, along with 13 other undocumented youth and parents. They took direct action so the immigrant community drops the fear and fights back against laws like HB 56. Thirteen of the fifteen participants were released - Which means we have 2 of our friends currently facing deportation to countries they no longer remember.

TAKE ACTION IMMEDIATELY. We need you to call in support of Isaac and Jonathan's release from detention so that they can be reunited with their family and loved ones for the holidays.

1) Call ICE - John Morton (800-394-5855) and (800 821 935

Sample Script: "I am calling to ask that the deportation of my friends Isaac Barrera (A#200-244-383) and Jonathan Perez (A#070-945-779) be immediately stopped. Isaac and Jonathan are DREAM Act eligible. President Obama has said he won't be deporting undocumented youth and our families. Why are Isaac and Jonathan still detained and awaiting deportation to countries they no longer remember?"

You can help stop their deportation! Please call and call often!
