Hello everyone,

Many of us will have the opportunity to apply for a work permit under Obama's new immigration policy. Times are great. However, considering that aged-out dreamers are the heart of the movement, it is utterly unfortunate that they are excluded from relief. That being said, I feel like we should help the pioneers of the cause in anyway we can. One way could be to start a "financial-aid organization" for aged-out dreamers who are in dire need of monetary assistance and are, thus, struggling to hold on to their American dreams. The funds would be gathered through our donations and distributed in an undetermined way (this is just a rough idea).

It is estimated that around 800,000 or 1 million dreamers will benefit from Obama's new policy. So, just imagine if we could all donate atleast 10 bucks every month or 2 months. This would help the aged-out dreamers hold on to their aspirations until relief is provided.

What do all of you think?

It would fairly work pretty well I think, but first we need to create a further drafting plan detailing how it would exactly look like and work, for example one question would be, would it be linked to dreamact.info?. But I'm game for it, it's only fair and necessary. No dreamers left behind.

I think, a scholarship fund would be great. We could all pitch in 20 dollars every month to the fund.

Think about it.

800,000 x 20 = 2*2*2 * 2 * 2 * 2 * 2 * 2 * 2 * 2 * 5 * 5 * 5 * 5 * 5*5 = 16 000 000

THIS COULD HELP A LOT OF DREAMERS. ALSO, We have to make it competitive/ need based.

I think this WOULD BE GREAT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am a nerd and I like prime factorizing numbers for fun. Primes are the building blocks of numbers. Primes are natural numbers not divisible by anything. It might be intergers I do not remember.

Thank you for your feedback guys. Very good ideas--especially the scholarship fund. Basing a scholarship fund or student organization on volunteer work would be nice BUT TOO RISKY considering the hard work that would need to be involved. Maybe, I could request sponsorship from someone and then employ someone to handle the finances. I say this because a hypothetical organization would be receiving many applications--I think. So, we need to give a group of people/staff an incentive to DO A GOOD JOB--especially in dealing with money and so on and son.

And yes, we could link the fund or organization to an existing, trusted dream org. Again, my concern is that I need to hire people to ensure that funds are correctly being handled.

Im down to contribute. But this has to be strictly monitored since we're dealing with money. I want to be sure that my money is being used the right way.

The question is how are we going to split it with the aged-out dreamers?
How much will they get and how many times can they receive money from this? Is this going to be a one time thing or is it going to annually? Monthly?

Competitive scholarchips or grants based on grades and need.

16 million dollars every month should cover a lot A LOT of people.

This could be kind of like the Illinois Dream Act. A fund to help undocumented students.

You guys are seriously forgetting the fact that we're dealing with dreamers over 30. What does that mean? They're already done college folks. The only way you can help them financially is if you pay their bills. I don't see it happening.
