I have been living in Texas for almost 12 yrs now, and there is something that really ruffles my feathers.

Texas is a large state with a very large Hispanic/ immigrant population. Yet, our representatives get away with being such assholes to us. Texas elected a recent Senator, Ted Cruz.

I don't know what ethnicity he claims, but I know he holds both US and Canada citizenship. He is very conservative and opposes everything he can. Here is a link to his record.

http://www.cruz.senate.gov/

This guy is new and I want him to know that the face of America is changing and he can't keep opposing legislation without providing any alternative solutions. He needs to know that he was hired to find solutions, not to be an obstructive. For goodness sake, Texas has so many immigrants how is it we let guys like him bully us.

I have heard that the way to get politicians to know you exist is to flood their phone lines with messages.

If you have a few minutes to kill; If you are just browsing around this site looking for information or helping your fellow dreamers; If you just dislike how much politicians play games that affect peoples everyday lives; If you just want to feel like you did something, however small;

LETS CALL SENATOR CRUZ phone line and let the phone operator know you just want leave a very important message for the Senator:

We Texans and Americans support a much needed, very crucial comprehensive immigration reform (or just the Dream Act if that is your view). We would like the Senator to support Immigration reform, and we would like him to accelerate this issue in Congress.

Austin Office
(512) 916-5834

Washington Office
(202) 224-5922

Now some of you might think, what's the use, he is so conservative and he won't change, or I am just one phone call. I promise you if even only a third of the DAP members do this we will have made ourselves heard, and at least we will be able to let this guy know that we are here, we are watching him, and whether he likes it or not, we will be voting in the future.
It's a tiny action that will take 2 minutes of your time. Let's do it, we have nothing to loose.

I just called his office and asked to leave a message for Senator Cruz.

I told him that I want him to join McCain and Rubio and be a leader to push comprehensive Immigration reform in the Senate. Lol, I really wish y'all will do this with me because I would love to see his face when he gets thousands of calls telling him to be a leader on comprehensive immigration reform. They asked me for my Texas zip code and that's it.

I looked over US constitution, there are no bans on having multiple citizenship while in congress. Even a US president can be a dual citizen, as long as he/she attained citizenship at birth.

In addition US law considers all US citizens to be US citizens only. For example if you're a dual citizen of US and Mexico, US sees you as a US citizen only.

True!

Anyways we should also do something next elections time for a new governor...cause perry has got to go but we must make sure that whoever replaces him will not be worse than he is!

Not only that but a certain ardent Republican who believed in "Securing the Border" even wanted to become President. If the same Republican votes against an immigration compromise I hope they lose their office.

I also think Senator Cruz and Cornyn should be called up since it appears they are being targeted by the opposition currently.
