Although GOP this time would like to offer Dreamers a path to citizenship through the Dream Act, the Democrats will not allow the Dream Act to pass on its own.

The Democrats will attach the Dream Act to CIR and also add LGBT to CIR.

Nice find, but the irony of the moment. We have always tried to push Dream act piecemeal before.

We'll see how this all works out.

The DA helps CIR, but CIR is a burden on the DA.

I hope they pass the DA if CIR fails, but I seriously doubt Dems will vote for it as a stand alone bill.
The status quo continues to work for both parties...

FAK!!!

I agree. I seems DA could be the first bill that they want to pass if they can't get the whole things passed.

DA by itself does not fix the broken immigration system. I agree CIR faces a tough battle but it is now or never. What democrats are doing is putting republicans' back against the wall to get at least DA+CIR. I think they eventually will drop the LGTB fight. The window to get this done will be closing out soon.

I see many people suggesting Democrats are using LGBT to ultimately stall CIR and blame it on the republicans, but what if they are introducing it into the mix to fully corner Republicans hopefully to get them to say "Listen, enough of this, we'll give you CIR, but just leave LGBT out of it!!!"

There could be many ways to interpret it.

That's what I'm hoping for

1) GOP has made some compromise. The compromise makes it easy form Dreamers to get citizenship.

2) Democrats have never made any compromise. They make it more difficult for Dreamers to get citizenship.

Democrats just try to make GOP look bad. That is their only goal. They in fact want more: LGBT.

Always keeping the CIR low hanging to us is much better to the Democrats than giving it to us.
