The chairman of the Senate Judiciary Committee vowed to swiftly move on Immigration and called it "urgent".

His committee will oversee the Conprehensive Immigration Bill and Leahy's participation in the process is crucial to the success of CIR.

Quote:
Senate Judiciary Chairman Patrick Leahy vowed to move swiftly on immigration legislation despite calls from conservatives, including Sen. Marco Rubio, to slow down the process.
Reacting to a Rubio (R-Fla.) letter over the weekend calling for extensive hearings on the soon-to-be-unveiled immigration bill by a group of eight senators, the Vermont Democrat said his panel would “consider” holding a hearing on the measure once it was introduced. But Leahy raised concerns that waiting too long could undermine the larger effort to pass the comprehensive bill, calling the matter “urgent.”

Thank you, God, someone with selfless integrity still sits in Congress. Yeah, so much for the White House's urgency for immigration reform, ha!

I feel rubio is all bullsh*t. LATINO voters need to know about him. Rubio, being Latino is not convinced about giving citizenship to immigrants. He is being forced to vote yes. I really dislike rubio and ill make sure Latino voters are well aware of him.

Hate on him all you want after CIR is passed, for now let him do his job and play his theatrics in politics.. We do need a yay from him to hit those 60 votes
