I just saw on immigration-law.com that the House Judiciary will have a hearing on S.744,which is the Senate's immigration bill in the Senate Judiciary. It's a strange move considering the House doesn't seem to have a consensus on the immigration issue.

Maybe they just realized they can't come come up with anything better than the senate version, so they've decided to consider s.744

And here it begins. S.744 has finally touched down on the great halls of the people's HOUSE. I give major credit to the Judiciary Committee members especially Leahy for creating progress and pressure. I certainly think the House will take up S.744. The bill should be out of the committee by the end of this month. That's literally less than half a month away.

Considering the name of the hearing,I doubt it.I think they will try to use it as a way to grand stand against the Senate bill even though no final variation has come out of the House.House Republicans have done so before as a reasoning to come up with their own variation of a bill or why they shouldn't consider a Senate passed one.
