Official Wording

Hello,
I'm new here - it is great that the DREAM act is coming up quickly. I am the director of a Social Services agency in California. I have been promoting advocacy of the DREAM act on several collaborative committees that I am on (as a side note I am shocked by the number of community leaders who don't even know what the DREAM act is !!) . What I need to know, and am having a hard time finding, - what is the official Senate number, is it called an ammendment at this point , or legislation or ? - is there a specific name of the DOD amendment or bill ? If I were to write official sounding letters / e-mails, etc. coming from groups, it would help to know what is the official wording I should use. Do you have a set letter you could link me to ? Also as an individual I was going to do some calling or e-mailing - it seems like it might be a good idea to target the Senators who are running for President with the push being that it is a national issue - even if I'm not in their state - with of course the military push for the conservatives. Does that sound right ?

Hi, I'm not sure what is the official lingo of the ammeded bill but it's S. 774 in the Senate and HR 1275 in the House of Representatives. And I saw it on a post earlier today but I can't find it right now, I think it was s774 ammended to S.D.2135 something like that. But one of the other guys will answer this question for you tomorrow.

it's an amendment to H.R. 1585, the Department of Defense authorization bill.

i think the amendment number is 2237 or something like that. S 774 is the stand alone bill.
