[Deadline Extended to Tuesday October 8th, 2013] #WhyIAppliedforDACA Video Contest!
We are giving away $5,000! As many of you already know, we recently launched the #WhyIAppliedforDACA YouTube video campaign that features narratives from DACA approved DREAMers that you can view at the following link(s): English version, Spanish version. We are very excited to announce the #WhyIAppliedforDACA YouTube video contest!
The goal of the #WhyIAppliedForDACA video contest is to raise awareness about Deferred Action by encouraging undocumented youth to share their stories and inspire other DACA eligible individuals to apply.
How to Enter
Upload your video to YouTube using the hashtag #WhyIAppliedforDACA. Video submissions must be no longer than 5 minutes in length.
Send your video link in an email with your name, phone number and county of residence to WhyIAppliedforDACA@iibayarea.org by 11:59pm on Tuesday, October 8th, 2013.
This is a great opportunity for DACA approved DREAMers to win cash prizes, as well as $465 to cover the DACA application fee for a person of their choice. For more information about the contest, as well as contest rules and regulations, visit IIBA’s website. Attached you will find a contest flyer which can be printed, posted, and distributed. Please distribute the contest information to your various networks!
For this run we are limiting it to folks here in the Bay Area. But the ultimate goal of the contest is to raise awareness about DACA and hopefully dispel misconceptions that may be keeping people from applying. So anyone anywhere can submit- their videos will be featured on IIBA's YouTube Channel. Below is some info taken from the contest rules, which can be found on IIBA's website.
1. Anyone is welcome to submit a video using the #WhyIAppliedforDACA hashtag. However, in order to be eligible to win, you must reside in one of the following Bay Area counties: Alameda, Contra Costa, Napa, Marin, San Francisco, Santa Cruz, Santa Clara, San Mateo, Solano, or Sonoma.
