I have to admit that I was tempted to somehow take pleasure upon hearing this news - after all this man's lawsuit will likely put my life on hold for another 3 years in addition to the decades of hardship and has caused me harm and pain; however, even the thought of the possibility that I could take pleasure out of another man's pain made me disgusted with myself and I will not let my circumstances make me lose my humanity. As such, I wish the man a speedy recovery and only dislike his actions and not the man himself.

Gov. Greg Abbott was in severe pain from second- and third-degree burns on his legs when he joined Dallas city officials Friday for a press conference in the aftermath of the mass shooting that left five police officers dead, the Austin American-Statesman reported Sunday.

Abbott had been vacationing in Jackson Hole, Wyo., when he was accidentally scalded with hot water on both of his legs, below his knees and on his feet. His staff was preparing a public statement informing Texans about the injury.

Abbott was driving back from the hospital when news of the horrific shooting in downtown Dallas broke.

"The governor's first words were, 'I've got to come back,'" said Abbott spokesman Matt Hirsch.

Immediately, Abbott began planning to travel to Dallas and ordered staff to turn lights blue at the Governor's Mansion in honor of the officers killed in Thursday's sniper ambush.

Hirsch said doctors had advised Abbott not to travel because his wounds need to be regularly dressed and present a serious risk of infection, but he insisted.

"It was hugely important for him to be in Dallas the next day without regard to his well-being," he said.

Abbott returned to Dallas on Friday in time for a 5 p.m. news conference with Mayor Mike Rawlings.

That is classy and the right thought IamAman.

By the way, the new Visa bulletin was released today. It is moving faster now. I have about 2 years left before AoS.

For me (F4) it only moved one week for the month on the actual visa availbility but the the time to apply moved over one month so I guess that's good. They started allowing the application to get started sooner thanks to the same executive order actually and that part wasn't part of the injunction.

I am in F1.

What do you mean to allow application to get started sooner due to EO?

The article does not relate to dream act. The person does but article does not.

Shame he didn't die. I hope he'll be in that wheel chair till he dies, and will be in so much pain that dragging himself onto a toilet will make him shit himself midway through.
