After recommending earlier this year that the Department of Justice not press charges against the former secretary of state, Comey said in a letter to eight congressional committee chairmen that "recent developments" urged him to take another look.
"In connection with an unrelated case, the FBI has learned of the existence of emails that appear pertinent to the investigation," Comey wrote the chairmen. "I am writing to inform you that the investigative team briefed me on this yesterday, and I agreed that the FBI should take appropriate investigative steps designed to allow investigators to review these emails to determine whether they contain classified information, as well as to assess their importance to our investigation."
Comey said that he was not sure how long the additional review would take and said the FBI "cannot yet assess whether or not this material may be significant."
Law enforcement sources say the newly discovered emails are not related to WikiLeaks or the Clinton Foundation. They would not describe in further detail the content of the emails. It's also unclear whether the emails in question are from Clinton herself.
Clinton's campaign learned of the news while they were aboard a flight to Iowa.
"We're learning about this just like you all are," a Clinton aide told CNN.

Shit just got real, brace yourselves everyone.

The reason why it may not be BS...is because possibly the FBI found out that WikiLeaks is about to drop a bombshell leaked email, and the FBI and Obama's administration may be trying to save themselves before the Clinton ship sinks.

Noone but the FBI knows for now I suppose.

I hope they take until after she's in office to do anything. If Putin wants trump, that should ring alert bells in your head that something isn't quite right.

And have her impeached her 1st day in office?

It seems like a shit deal all around, but I guess Tim Kaine holding the mantle is also OK for us.

As long Trump isn't in office!!! lol...

Technically this can blow over without much impact on her if the emails do not pertain to her, and if there is no classification rankings on the emails...but the principle of them reopening a closed investigation is fucking unprecedented...it does strike me as odd.

The emails were found on a device from Anthony Weiner. The Sexting predator who was the former husband of Clinton's deputy chief of staff (Huma Abedin).

I smell desperation from the right wing. Keep in mind that the director of the FBI is a conservative who appears to be a decent enough guy but He might have been under lot of pressure from his right wing cronies.

Yea but the thing about this is that, the closed case was reopened...which is supposedly strange according to some people familiar with this kinda stuff.

So is the email investigation going to keep closing and reopening until the end of time until they hope to find something on her?

Now the email investigation seems like a viable weapon for the repubes to stop a Clinton presidency now, or to make her only a one term president by hounding her on emails throughout her presidency...this moment just changed everything IMO.

They claim technically the case was never really closed. I see this as yet another political football. Unless some bombshell is revealed Comey should be ashamed of himself to inject the FBI into this political campaign.
