There will be no new cabinet news this weekend, but there are reports that Milwaukee Sheriff David Clarke is set to meet with President-elect Donald Trump on Monday. The tough on crime Clarke, who is a Democrat, is said to be in the running to head the Department of Homeland Security (via USA Today):

Milwaukee County Sheriff David A. Clarke Jr. is scheduled to meet Monday in New York with President-elect Donald Trump, according to news reports quoting a Trump aide.
Clarke, who runs as a Democrat, was a high-profile surrogate for Trump during the campaign. Clarke has been mentioned as a potential Trump appointee to head the Department of Homeland Security.
"The sheriff has nothing to say," Clarke's spokeswoman, Fran McLaughlin, said Friday when asked to confirm Monday's meeting.
The publication added that in an interview with conservative radio host Joe Pags, Mr. Clarke does not expect anything from this meeting since he doesn’t have an entitlement mentality; he was a staunch Trump supporter during the 2016 campaign.

There's no reasoning with this sheriff. And as crazy as it sounds, he's racist, he diminishes his own race. He opposes black-lives matters and any kind of protests around the US. He's the equivalent of a "coconut", a term use for Hispanics who are brown but white in the inside. This guy has military, boot-camp style way of doing things, I can visualize him going nuts and making you stand in the sun all day. My opinion.

Do not freak out. If he appoints a hardliner, bad news for DACA. I insist that I doubt we can be deported because the administration will only be focusing on immigrants with criminal records. That may be one of the reasons Trump is looking for a hardliner--to target the ones with criminal records. We already know that the administration will not deport everyone, and we will not self-deport, so chill. Not the end of the world.

The possibility still exists his administration can still pressure for reform.

Some daca recipients applied with criminal records. I wonder if that information will be used against them?

Yes, there are a lot of people who were caught driving without a DL before DACA for example.

I think it depends on the state to whether it's a infraction or a misdemeanor. Only misdemeanors appear on DOJ records.

I may lean conservative, but I am not saying that I agree with Trump either. I am focusing on relief for our community.

I love how the discussions start off interesting and then they splinter into stupidity and name calling. No wonder trump won.
