Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel on Wednesday pressured President-elect Donald Trump
to continue the Obama administration program shielding young undocumented immigrants from deportation.
During a private meeting at Trump Tower, Emanuel handed Trump a letter signed by more than a dozen mayors urging him not to follow through on his campaign pledge to scrap the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program.

Quote:
He did not back off his promise to cancel the executive order during an interview published Wednesday with Time magazine. But he said he might work out an accommodation for those benefitting from DACA.

That letter is awesome and it lays out how much billions of dollars the USA stands to lose if DACA is done away with. We all know the Donald likes money.

if trump cancels daca with no replacement he is the worst business man I have ever seen. Let's see if he will really run the U.S like a business.

I have a feeling Republicans want to take the immigration issue away from the democrats and continue to weaken their support. Their going to use this daca legislation as a test run and ultimately leverage for a border security bill.
