Quote:
WASHINGTON—President Donald Trump signed three executive actions on Thursday that he said are aimed at reducing crime in the U.S. as Jeff Sessions, his attorney general, was sworn into office.

The White House’s swearing in of Mr. Sessions comes as the Justice Department is embroiled in a legal battle over Mr. Trump’s executive order banning travelers from seven majority-Muslim countries because he said they pose national security concerns.

“We will defend the laws of this country as passed by Congress. We will defend the lawful orders of the president of the United States with vigor and determination,” Mr. Sessions said.

Mr. Trump said the executive actions he signed direct the Justice Department to create a task force for reducing crime broadly and to craft a plan to combat violence against law enforcement officers. A third executive action, he said, authorizes the Justice and Homeland Security departments to do what they need to “break the back of the criminal cartels that have spread across our nation.”

The White House didn’t immediately release copies of the actions.

“Today’s ceremony should be seen as a clear message to the gang members and drug dealers terrorizing innocent people,” Mr. Trump said. “Your day is over. A new era of justice begins and it begins right now.”

Mr. Sessions said a rise in crime in the U.S. is “a dangerous permanent trend,” not a “blip.”

Neither Mr. Sessions nor Mr. Trump cited statistics to support their statements.

The longer they wait to move on DACA, the better chance we have on keeping it.

Amen to that! Lets just hope the press reporters don't keep asking the Administration on the status of DACA over and over again.

That ventriloquist-looking Jeff Sessions is a horrible excuse to lead the Justice department.

Here's hoping!! I wonder if there will be an announcement specifying this or if they will just hope the questioning dies off eventually. Doubt it, even the looming Trump tax questions received answers. So let's continue to hope for the best.

We are literally in a bubble right now. With Sessions now in, I expected background check for DACA to be more stringent. He will find any reason to give us the boot, stay clear of any DUIs, tickets, for that matter don't even jaywalk.

Or worse go back to approved cases and terminate for anyone holding daca with the slightest of wrongdoing

Here's one of the EO's. It mentions this task force to be headed by someone chosen by Sessions. It seems like it won't have any 'real' power, just perform studies and submit recommendations. It does mention illegal immigration though, not DACA.
